“THE WISE KID." Rosie Cooper is a worldly-wise, blase little cashier in a cheap restaurant. When a handsome young follow with hearing and clothing that made him look like a fashion model did not have the money to pay for a big meal in the place. Rosie paid the bill herself, and let herself in for an amazing sequence of adventures and thrills that only her sharp wit and courage conquered. For a few fluttering days she followed the fashion plate about, neglected her Freddie Smith, the baker's boy. and when fh>- latter was sent to jail for a theft he did not commit, she was the first to believe him guilty. However, it did util lake her lung to grasp the true trend of affairs. When realisation did (-.line, she stalled some things that will I startle any who see this picture. The upshot of the whole thing was the apprehension of the true thief, and the rejuvenation of her romance with Frcd-
TO MORROW NIGHT. “STARDUST.” “Stardust.'’ based on Fannie Hurst’s great human interest story, is the attraction at (he theatre to-morrow night, (.'harming Hope Hampton is seen in the stellar role ns the forlorn little girl whose musical ambitions are squelched at home, but whose talent and ambitions find an outlet in the great city. Tinged with tragedy and pathos and tired with romance and ambition “Stardust” provides Miss Hampton with the greatest dramatic vehicle she has yet been given, and she has taken full advantage of the opportunity. James Bennie is the loading man in “Stardust.” Noel Tearle is one of the striking characters in Hope Hampton’s ‘‘Stardust.' 1 He portrays the role of a selfish, overbearing husband in that First National attraction, his performance in the opinion of many who have seen it excelling his remarkable line acting in “Over the Hill.”
