SPORTING.
A petition, to bo forwarded to tho Baring Conference, has been signed by prominent Otaki residents, objecting to jlr C. Morse’s disqualification, which was inflicted at tho recent Otaki races. The penalty is considered far too severe, and it is hoped to have the disqualification lifted. The appeals of trainer Morse and jockey .Nixon will be heard at Wellington on Monday. Adrina and Complimentary have gone home, but Mr Penman’s string has been lidded to by n jumper owned by Mr E. Short t.
