RUSH TO THE COLOURS. The rush to join the colours eontiu ues, aud throughout the Dominion the offices of tho Defence Department have been kept busy enrolling the names of those anxious to serve.

The Legislative Council unanimously confirmed the action of the Prime Aliuister in promising the Dominion’s sup port with a contingent.

i In the House of Representatives the Alinister for Defence stated that the total enlistments had exceeded 10,000. Of these enrolments the Central Command was responsible for 201 officers and 3492 men. In Wellington alone over 3000 enlistments have been recorded, and the returns from other areas are equally satisfactory.

A number of nurses have given in their names, and every branch of the army is represented. During the evening the Prime Atinister referred to the financial side of the question. Air Alassey assured the House that if we became involved in war he could arrange with the Imperial Government to find all the money ne-

Captain Pirimi Tuhiwi is accepting names of local volunteers, and quite a number have signified their intention to go over-seas if needed.
