BOWLERS' BALL.
i I The Otaki Bowling Club's annual f ball, held in the Otaki theatre last night, was undoubtedly "the event of the season." The attendance, though not as lurm- a- on previous occasion.", was good, and visitors Were present from all parts of the district. The nr rangements, thanks to a capable com mittee. were complete, and the proceed ings went along with a swing. The hail and supper loom were effectively decorated with bunting, while lovely bunches, of spring flowers were much in evidence. The music, supplied by the Tahiwi orchestra, wa- all that could ladesired. The supper arrangement«. under the capable management of Mr> .?. R, Bills, went off splendidly. Tiemost noticeable feature of the proceedings were the beautiful dresses worn by the ladies. Numbers were exquisitely gowned and many were the complimentary remark- pnssed thereon. Mi Geo Xoi.de proved himself an efficient M.C. and the committee put in their whole hearted support to make the fixture worth;.- of the popularity accorded it Mr H. Freeman, as secrefnry. did good work, and much credit i- doe to him for the success of the affair.
