RIFLE ASSOCIATION.
MEETING ON EASTER MONDAY. On •Saturday hist a meeting of delc•.'a'e* of the distriet Rifle Clubs was held at the Telegraph Hotel, to arrange the' preliminaries for the formation of a Rifle Association. The Committee elected by the Clubs were Messrs MiLean and Hyde (Wharerou), Head and Franklin (Foxton), A. Monk and P. Monk (Ngatiawa), W. Ingrain and J. Miuiro (Levin), J. Guy aud A. Thomson (Hautcre). The following officers were also elected:—Patron, Mr W. 11. field. M.l'.; President, Mr J. Guy; vice-presidents. Messrs .1. I'. Brandon, li; no, Krovvn. A. A. Brown, .1. McGill, <i. I'. (.'alley. .1. fisher, .r. K. Hnrnblow; secretary atel I tea surer, Mr A. Thou; on; assistant secretary. Mr Franklin. II way decided to hold the lirsl Association meeting on Kasfer Monday. The name of the Association is to be "The Horowheniiii Kiflr Association." The Association litis 1 n ptomised a lot of support, tool heartily thank Mr A. Monk and Mr Maclean who haw promised £.l each. Mr A. A. Bro« ~ for £l, aniF'xnother gentleman for giving £5 to finance a handicap aggregate. Tltu Association is a move in the right direction, and if it receives the support il deserves should make good headway, while the meet ins »n L'astc M.onlay should be attended by both old and young shots.
