BE MODERATE.
To the Editor. Sir, —It is evident that the prohibitionists are looking fur fight, judging by advertisements appearing in various papers. Well, if they want light let them have it—hard, but clean. Let us moderates organise as the prohibitionists have done, and deal with them as they deserve. Why should we moderates, who like a “spot,” bo debarred from having it because of a few who cannot control their thirst. Let those who imbibe .too freely be dealth with—we have our courts and police officers. Let the constables earn their crust by doing their duty. Wlnrt would the price of alcohol be if sold by our chemists.’ Why £2 or more per bottle, perhaps! Yes. and for the sake of a few! Why penalise the majority—let’s be fair and square, and lot majority rule! Look at the expense the prohibitionists are causing the country, and in such days of stress' Now, moderates lie up and doing, and show wc have plenty of fight.—l am, etc., FAIR PLAY.
