When the fight begins it is obvious that he is holding back and stalling for time, instead of forcing the light, as expected. “Dummy” Carney, disgusted with his new fighter, believing him to be “yellow.” offers to surrender his share in “Kid” Roberts’ contract to Joe Murphy for £2O, a proposition which Murphy accepts. The “Kid” is pretty badly battered, but suddenly sees a vision of the wealthy and beautiful Irene Gresham, who he is to wed. and he makes an amazing rei eoverv. It develops he has won the ' fight with a Joe Murphy ! shews him the contract and tells him ■ that “D-uinmy” Carney has withdrawn | from the parUership. **Dummy” Carney, indignan- 1 - at the outcome of the fight, balieves he has been doublecrossed by Robert-* and Murphy.
