Ever since his advent in pictures some years ago. Dust in Faruum has been wedded to California. When he was ou the speaking stage he had a hard time of it—travelling all over the country, with seldom a chance at a strip of water larger than a bed sheet. In pictures one is not the slave of time tables. One can remain" virtually stationary— stive for "location" trip;— and can conduct business like tiny other rational being; can have his boats and cars, and enjoy his leisure hours. One result of this is that Los Angeles litis become I lie racing centre of the Pacific Coast —and hugely through the untiring efforts of the present Commodore of the Los Angeles Motor Boat Club Dustin Far num. The speed races of the Los Angeles Motor Boat Club are the big sporting event of the year. All the West Coasters turn out for it. and for two consecutive years Dustin Karnum has been the winner of the Nordlingor trophy. A third victory means permanent possession of the handsome cup. They were burned in a blaze early in the summer. It wus necessary for liini to put in a rush order for another speedster.
