METHODIST NOTES.

. Anniversary services in connection j with flic Otaki Methodist Church were held on Sunday last, the pulpit beingoccupied by Rev. Ashcroft, of Palmerston North. Larger congregations than usual were present, and Rev. Ashcroft 's addresses were much enjoyed. The evening subject was "The Church and Social Service." and the speaker was listened to with close attention. The anniversary was continued on Tuesday when a social was held in the Church and a splendid programme of songs and recitations presented by members and friends was very much enjoyed. The secretary presented his report which showed that church activities were well maintained, though the state of the finances demanded close attention. An appetising supper, pro vided by the members of the ladies guild, was then handed round and onI joyed by all, after which the singing I of the doxology brought the gathering to a close.
