OBITUARY.
♦ - MBS AIiBKED ATKINS. The many friends of Mrs Alfred Melvinc Allans will regret to learn that she passed away at her residence. Manakau, on Sunday last. The deceased, who was of a quiet and unassuming nature. and greatly respected, underwent a very serious operation some t>. eivc months ago at Bowen Street hospital. She failed to regain health, and after a pionacied illness passed away ns above stated. The late Mrs Atkins,
vho was in her Ah year, wn.- bo;n i Hokiangu. but ii her early days Urn 1 up her abode • t \uok1and, where -h' practically liven till she went to Mu liakau. The whole of her mtrrricd life, with .the exception of a short interval in Levin, was spent in Maiutknu, where she made msuiy friends. During low residence there she identified herself with local affairs, always being a willing worker. She was well-known also in various other parts of the district. The late Mrs Atkins was a daughter of Mrs Viyatt. of AMiakarouga (Palmerston A'ortli), and sister to Mrs i’. Fafeita and Mrs R. Askew, both of Whakaronga, Mrs A. Vv'right, of Raupo (Forth Auckland), Mr James Wyatt, of Few Plymouth, and Mr Alfred Wyatt, of Auckland. There remains a husband and four children to mourn their loss, and to these much sympathy has been extended. The funeral takes place at Manakau at 2 o’clock to-morrow.
