MANAKAU BAZAAR.

The members of the Mariakau Anglican Ladies’ Guild have every reason to be pleased with the success of their bazaar, which wag held in the Town Hall last Wednesday afternoon and evening. A prettily arranged Xmas tree, in charge of Misses Drake and Burnell, supplied the children with toys, sweets, and squeakers (and plenty of noise). Afternoon tea and supper were under the direction of Mrs Bryant and Miss Houghton, assisted by the confirmation candidates who gave their undivided attention to those wanting rerreshAmong the guessing competitions were a beautifully iced cake given by Me: dames Stewart and Smith, and two appending dinners by Mrs Drake and Mr R. D. Mickle. The following are the winners:—Cake, Mr Blair; dinners, Mrs Stupples and Mrs A. Robinson; cushion, S. Clifford; door prize, Mr Meharry. Miss E. Nees won the much coveted album containing views of the unveiling of the cenotaph.
