4— Mr J. AI. Pye, besides forwarding half-a-guinea subscription to the Old Boys’ Club, has offered a two-guinea trophy for the best forward in the team. Another effort is to be made to amalgamate the Otaki and Old Boys.’ Clubs. At a meeting of the Union last night "Banana” Tahiwi was reinstated aa junior. At the Otaki Borough Council meeting this morning attention was drawn to unseemly conduct by a spectator at Saturday’s match, and it was decided to draw the Horowhenua Rugby Union’s notice to the matter with a view of keeping in check -uch behaviour in future. At a meeting of the Otaki Borough Council this morning the question of charging ladies one .--hilling for admission to football matches was brought forward by the Mayor who contended, in the interests of clean -port, that ladies should be admitted free. Cr. Cockrell pointed out that the Union desired a uniform charge throughout the district. and hence no action was taken. The grounds, it was pointed out were under the control of the Union.
