OTAKI GUN CLUB.
♦ The annual general meeting of the Otaki Gun Club was held at Otaki Kailtv ay on Wednesday last. The Club president, Mr A. J. Podevin, presided, and the annual report and bal-ance-sheet were presented by the serenity. The Club in its lirst year had a very successful season, and tiled a total of twenty matches, on many occasions drawing competitors from other clubs. The membership of the Club at the end of the season was twenty-live, which number will be increased this season by the addition of several new members. The Club iu its iirsl season was indebted to the following gentlemen for their kindly support in providing donalions: —Mr W. H. Field, M.l’.. Air H. J. Palmer. Air Ben Ling, ALr Loo Hansby and Air -T. I). Howell. The Club also owes its thanks to the Otaki Maori Racing Club for its generosity in. providing a delightful range for members to shoot on, and is also deeply appreciative of the support given by the ladies, who, on many occasions, provided afternoon tea. The iintiueial position of the Club was considered to be very satisfactory, and provides a good foundation for commencing the approaching season, which will doubtless be even better than the last. Ling, frank Kvans. H. Witchell. Captain Bax. T. W. Garth ami C. Kilsby; lion, secretary and tr* usurer, Air 11. Tn., ’ . ; <•< mm-1-tee. .Messrs P. Bennett. H. Kilmister, (i. Siddells. K. Finley, ami A. lb Webster; lion, handicapper. Mr Brottdwar. It was decided to open the season on Saturday next, Kith inst.. at 1.-' ll p.tm. and to hold Club shoots every second Saturday in the following month.
