THE PAEKAKARIKI ROBBERY.
STILL ANOTHER ARREST,
Masterton, May 5. Still another arrest has been made in connection with the robbery of a safe and its contents from the Paekakariki railway. refreshment rooms.
KeginaJd William Gunn, a taxi driver, who in the Supremo Court gave evidence for the Crown against Carmichael and Biel. was detained this afternoon and charged that on or about January J!», 1V22, at Masterton, he did receive about 2S sovereigns and about £l2 in silver, (he said money haviug been obtained from a crime committed by Eric Malcom Biel and others, knowing such money to have been dishonestly obtained. Gunn was remanded till Friday, bail being allowed. A further remand was also granted to Friday in connection with a similar charge against James Cecil Oliver Thompson, who was arrested last week. There' are now implicated in the robbery four persons, of whom Carmichael and Biel are serving sentences recently ! imposed by the Supreme Court.
