CHORAL CONCERT.
To the Editor. ■Sir.—l read with interei«( the letter* in tie- "Otaki Mini" on Friday night at,out He- Chora! Society's concert. The small audience and lack of enthusiasm must have been most disappointing, not only to the conductor and choir but the lover- of good music who had looked forward to future concerts. Everyone knows the depressing effect empty -eat- : ::-! apathetic audb.-noci have on tlii- performers, and it i> to be feared that without encouragement the Society may fee! unable lo carry on. Till.-; would indeed be a distinct loss. We hardly appreciate, 1 think, how fortunate we are in having Mr- Stahlc with her wide knowledge and experience, willing to devote her time and talents to this work. Eve,, the large choral societies have had -mall beginnings and only the heartiest co-opera-tion of the public has made success possible, and those who have enjoyed their beautiful concerts know whst pleasure they give and the wonderful results of encouraging the talent in their mid-t. That this talent, is not lacking here i- shown by the delightful concerts we have already had. We hope for many more.—l arn. etc.. A WELL -WISHER.
