RIFLE SHOOTING
HAUTERE CLUB. a _ ! On Easter Monday the Hautcre Rifle - Club held there annual field day. There was a large attendance of visitors, 24 t riflemen competing. The shooting was e ' very good, some of the young shots putd ting up very fine scores. The weather t was ideal with a light left wind blow ing. The championship for the day was won by Rflmn. P. Guy, who put on s 31 at 700 y:.rds,.beating the runner up , by two points. Both went to 700 yds with 124. ( There were two possibles put on, T. j . Taylor at 200yds and A. Thomson at 300yds. The Club has to thank all those who assisted them with donations and enabled them to pay out £27 in prize.money. Thanks are also due to the ladies who were there and attended to the - riflemen's wants. RESULTS:—

On Saturday (Bth) members of the Hautere Rifle Club fired 10 shots at 000 yards, completing the fifth round of the Belt and Taylor Cup, and also the Otaki Brass Band's trophies. Rflm. F. Best proved to be the winner, Rflmn E. Taylor second. The weather conditions were not conducive to good shooting. Shooting was also carried on at 800 yards of the sixth round of the Belt, Taylor Cup, and trophy presented by Mr A. E: Minton.
