OTAKI SPORTS.
TO BE HELD TO-DAY. A meeting of the Committee of the Otaki Athletic Club was held on Wednesday night, Mr J. P. Brandon (Mayor) presiding. Correspondence was read from Masterton stating fifteen members would be making the trip, while Palmerston Club wrote advising that a meeting of delegates of various Clubs would bo held at Otaki on Saturday night to discuss the advisability of forming a new centre, to embrace south to Waikanae. —Messrs Irving and Broadway were appointed Otaki delegates to attend the meeting. Mr P. Simcox was appointed to assist the judges, Mr Proctor the timekeepers, and Mr Carmichael the call stewards. Mr Irving (secretary) reported all arrangements as complete for the meeting. Mr Broadway offered to supply a quantity of violets for sale at the sports, the money raised to be devoted to the Club funds.—The offer was accepted with thanks. A Maori troupe from Levin will be in attendance, and during the day will sing, dance, etc.
