OTAKI CHORAL SOCIETY.
j A meeting of the committee of the iOtaki Choral Society was held on Friday night. Mr Simcox occupied the chair. The committee regretted the unavoidable absence of the President, Mrs Stahle, who was prevented from attending on account of an accident to Mr Stahle. All hoped the injuries would be slight. The Secretary referred to the proposed method of recording sale and purchase of music and receipt of subscriptions. The question of when , the subscriptions were due was discussed, and the committee decided to recommend to the Society that the yearly subscriptions' of 2s t>d per member bo paid as from February Ist iu each year, this being the approximate date of the start of the season.
The Committee acknowledged tho gift of £1 Is from Miss Baxter, and it was decided to record appreciation on the minutes. The Secretary (Mr Davies) reported that expenses incurred with the proposed Levin concert last February amounted to £2 fos lid. The account was passed for payment but the Committee expressed themselves as dissatisfied at having to bear the cost, considering that it was proposed to travel to Levin practically for the interests of that town.
