PERSONAL.
Mr W. Subritzky, of the Otaki Post Office staff, is at present on holiday. Miss Elderton. of Otaki, will be among the competitors at the Christchurch competitions. Mr T. King, who has been a resident of this district for many years, .hopes to visit China at an early date. Dr. Sharp, who has been on a visit to Kaikoura and Chrislchureh, returned to Otaki last night, greatly benefitted by his sojourn.
Mr and Mrs H. I. Low, well-known in Otaki, and Mrs P. Brady and Miss E. Brady have gone to New Plymouth to be present at the marriage of Miss Leah Brady to Mr George Hart.
Mr J. F. Thurston, the newly-ap-pointed headmaster of the Newtown School, was presented on Friday last with a travelling rug by the leaching staff of the Feilding School, and with a fountain pen by tLe School Committee. Mi Thurston was for some time on the staff of the Otaki Native College.
Mr "Jack" McGill, who has been mine host of the Railway Hotel for some time, leaves Otaki next week for pastures new. During his term here both he and Mrs McGill have proved very popular, and have identified themselves with many worthy objects. The hotel will be taken over by Mr T. Garth, of Wellington, who has a splendid reputation.
