FARMERS SCHOOL

TO BE HELD AT WERAROA. It has been decided by the Dcpaitment of Agriculture to hold a farmers’ school for farmers of the Muuawutu and Waii arapu districts at the Central Development Farm, Wcraroa, Levin, commencing on Monday, April 24th. This is a splendid opportunity for the farmers, as the farm is well equipped for agricultural instruction, having the necessary machines, crops, live stock, etc., to demonstrate with. The school will last over a period of four days, the first lecture being on Monday evening, thus allowing time for Wairarapa farmers to be present at the opening lecture. A scries of lectures and demonstrations during the day, and lantern lectures during the evening, will continue until Friday night. The lecturing and demonstration work will be [ done by practical experts and will cover! the following subjects: —Dairy breeds, dairy farming, horses, pigs, sheep and wool, pasture management, supplementary fodder crops, lucerne, crop diseases and pests, liming, fertilisers, treatment of soils, and a g-rcat deal of sound general information. All farmers who can should make a great effort to be present at the school, as it will Ire great 1\ to their advantage to be there. I isitors will be boarded at the farm at a moderate charge, and as there is onlj limited accommodation, early application should be made to the manager. Central Development Farm, Wcraroa.
