VESTRY MEETING.
A meeting of .vestrymen was held on Monday evening, the Bev-. G. F. Petrie, Vicar, presiding. Air L. St. George (treasurer) submitted a financial statement which was regarded as most satisfactory.
The Chairman stated that arrangements had been made with the Wellington City Council relative to pumping during school hours at the Station Sundays school and that it bad been agreed to stop pumping during school hours. If- was reported that a substantial amount had been donated for Mission work, New Zealand giving in til over £*ooo.
The Vicar stated that the Ladies' Guild had, as usual, done good work, end that in reference’ to the cleaning of the Church’ had agreed to engage a woman. Jt was generally agreed tfiat a .social hall was necessary, but the matter was deferred till the annual meeting, which takes placeuttesrtjjmmtb. •. • The question of holding suitable services or. Anzae Day was brought for. ward by Air .Brandon who stated, as Alayor, that he would have the matter discussed by the.-Bprough Council. The day was one, he said, which shonld be recognised. The Vicar agreed and said the Church would not be lacking in ■ its duties.
It was agreed to get the Church paths asphalted, and Mr Kershaw was deputed to attend, to the work* v
