OTAKI Y.M.C.A

ANNUAL MEETING. The. first annual meeting of the Otaki v.M.C.A. was held on Wednesday erening, Mr A. J. Watts presiding over o fair attendance. The balance-sheet as presented was adopted and accounts passed for payment. Officers for the ensuing year were elected ns follows: President, Mr A. J. Watts; vice-presidents, Messrs J. PBrandon, H. Cockrell, W. Taylor, A. Pritchard, J. M. Irving, A. E. Minton, M. Baker, and Revs. Petrie and Keal; joint secretary and treasurer, Messrs W. Taylor and W: Watts. The secretary’s report stated that the first year of the Y.M.O.A. in Otaki had been a success. There were 23 financial members, and a number of boys were present on several occasions pho trill this year besom* paying members. Visits were paid to Manakau and Te Horo, where competitions, and games weTG played and much enjoyed.. A fixture by Dr. Sharp one evening was much appreciated by members .an visitors. ' Two socials in which . the Girls’ Club, the Blue Triangle, joined were much enjoyed, and it is hoped the two clubs will be able to meet for lectures, debates, etc., more during the coming winter. The hall has been secured and the rent paid up to September, 1923, which puts the clubs on a good footing.
