FOOTBALL.

OLD BOYS’ GLEB. A general meeting of the Old Boys’ Football Club was held at Hansby’s saloon last evening, when there was a large attendance, Mr Loo Hansby occupying the chair. After reading the minutes of previous meeting, Mr C. O’Rourke proposed that the Otaki and Old Boys’ Clubs amalgamate and form* one senior, and two junior teams. As the Old Boys have formed senior and junior teams, however, the proposal came to nothing. Mr Mclntyre then proposed that tho Old Boys approach the Otaki supporters and team mid ask if they u ould amalgamate and play under the name of the Old Boys’ Club. This was seconded by Mr C. O’Rourke, but the motion also failed, as six players (Otaki) hud thrown in there lot with the Old Boys ’ Club. Mr B. Ferguson then proposed that anv players belonging to Otaki or any other club be allowed to become members of the’ Old Boys’ Club. This was seconded by several present and carried. The matter of jerseys was also brought forward and there were many proposals on the matter. Mr B. Feiguson proposed that each member pay 2s or upwards towards a jersey, the club to keep the jerseys in its possession. one ' particular person, to collect the jerseys after every match. Mr E. Clark offered his services: as collector. Mr Wilson then moved re a. player wanting to purchase his own jersey. | It was decided that each player wish- , ing to do so was quite welcome, and whatever ho deposited would be deduct-c-d from the cost. These motions all being seconded were carried. Messrs G. Gordon, W. Dougherty, T. i Walsh, W. Bailcv and S. Parker also j spoke on football lines, and other mattcis concerning the welfare of tli» game. ! Mr Fred Wilson was elected Club ( captain. Tho secretary was then advised to procure jerseys., as soon as possible, Messrs T. Walsh and L. Hansby of- . faring security for same. Tho proposed third-class competition wsa again left over. The matter of insurances was also discussed, the chairman reading a statement from one company. This ; matter was also left over. Mr Mclntyre offered his services re correspondence, etc., which were accepted with thanks. A dance committee was then elected comprising Messrs W. H. Grey, u . H. Bowden, W. Bailey. S. Parker.' M. Murray, E. Hansby, S. Enoka and A. Wallace. A meeting of the committee will be held on Monday night next at Hansby ’ s when the date of holding a dance and selecting a ladies’ committee will be considered. The Club acknowledges with thanks donations from Mr Byron Brown and Mr Wiremu King, 10s 6d each, towards the Club’s fjmds. —— | TE HORO NOTES. The recently-formed Te I-loro Foot- . ItAll Club is now firmly established, and has a playing membership of over 00. The work of preparing the football , ground is completed and the ground compares favorably with any other in the district. Tho Club is holding a practice match to-morrow, Saturday, commencing at 2 p.m.. when all members and intending members are requested to attend. A dance in aid of the Club’s finances is being held in the Public Hall, Te Horo, on Wednesday, March 29th, when all who attend are sure to spend an enjoyable evening.
