RIFLE SHOOTING.
HAUTERE CLUB COMPETITION. On Saturday last the Hautere Rifle Club fired a match at 500 and 000 yards between the married and single members to settle a tie which resulted at a match at 200 and 300 yards the previous Saturday. After shooting at 500 yards the married were leading by two points. At the conclusion of the 600 yards shoot the married team had only dropped one point on their 500 yards score, while the single men had dropped 27. This left the married team the winners by 30 points. These shoots are included in the Belt and trophies series. President J. Guy, with a score of 130, is in the lead, for the trophies, followed closely by Rifle-' man A. Cooper with 128. Following are the scores in Saturday’s match: — Married Team. 500 600 yds. yds. tl.
