BOWLING

HINEMOA CUP COMPETITION. The annual match for the Hinemoa Cup, presented by Mr W. H. Simcox, took place on the Otaki green yesterday between the Hinemoa Masonic Lodge and the Otaki Lodge. The rinks were: — Hinemoa: Revel, Boylet, Maplebeck and Dement (skip). Otaki: St. George. Quale, Bills, Satherley (skip). The game was the closest that has been played here for a long time, and was not decided till the last head, when Hinemoa lay 1 up and won the game. The play was much enjoyed, both by players and spectators. Several other rinks, including visiting and local players, were on the green, and spent a pleasant afternoon. In the evening the visitors were entertained at a banquet in the Otaki theatre.
