The many friends of Mr M. H. Ayrc will regret to learn that he is very ill.

Mr W. Vaughan lias been appointed by rlio Government Statistician us subenumerator of the Otaki district.

Mr Minton Brown, son of Mr Byron Brown, has joined the well-known legal firm of Messrs Salex and Turner, of Wellington.

Mr W. B. Smith, who is still in liospi tal as the result of a fall from his bicycle, is making steady progress.

Misses Sealy, of Nelson, sisters ts Miss Sealy, Otaki, have left by the “Arawa” for England.

Mr and Mrs “Dug” Webster expect to leave for Sydney on holiday at an early date. Mr Webster will probably take the well-known racer, Fisher, and another across.
