OTAKI ATHLETIC CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Otaki Athletic Club was held lust night, Mr J. P. Brandon presiding. There was a good attendance, while apologies for absence were received from several. The Secretary (Air Irving) stntejJ that money received last year totalled £lO2 13s fid, and after'all expenses had been paid there was a credit balance of £9 8s Bd. The Chairman and others considered this very satisfactory, the former speaking eulogistically on the state of affairs which ho considered due to the work of Air Irving. The following were elected officers for the year:—President, Air .T. P. Brandon; vice-presidents, Alessrs A. W. Broadway, X. O'Rourke, H. Witched, H. C. E. St aide, Kupa Haweu, Byron Brown, A. J. Podevin, and Dr. Sharp; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. M. Irving; committee, Messrs G. Noble, G. Siddclls, H. Nicolson, C. O’Rourke, W. H. Reynolds, H. Wills, A. Adsett, J. Fairley, and H. Taylor; auditor, Mr C. F. Atmore; judges, Dr. Sharp, A. J. Podevin and W. AI. Simcox; handicappers, Messrs AI. H. Ayre and A. C. Kitto; timekeeper, Mr Nat Williams; chairman of committee and starter, Mr Geo. Noble; marksmen, Alessrs C. O’Rourke and Len Howell. After discussion it was decided to hold a sports meeting on Easter Monday on the race-course, if available, it being agreed upon this place in preference to the domain on account of buildings, etc. It was agreed, however, that half of the profits from the meeting be devoted to improving the domain. On behalf of the Paraparaumu Club Air Irving extended an invitation to ail members to attend the Springbok meeting on the 15th, and in doing so spoke highly of the way in which the Paraparaumu Club carried out its arrangements.
The membership fee was fixed at 2s dd, while Messrs Brandon and Irving were appointed to sign cheques. It was decided to hold a dance on the evening of the sports.
