FAREWELL SOCIAL.
TO MR H. McMILLAN.
A public meeting was held in the Council Chambers on Friday night for the purpose of arranging a fitting farewell to Mr H. McMillan. His Worship the Mayor (Mr .T. P. Brandon) presided,' and 1 after referring to the public-spiritedness of Mr McMillan and the fact that ho always assisted any object when approached, ■ suggested some presentation should be made. Other speakers agreed and it was finally left to Messrs T. Walsh, L. Sevan, W. Sotkeran, and J. B. Tustiu (secretary) to make arrangements for a social at ■which a presentation would be made, the date to bo fixed by the committee.
