KAPITI.
The correspondence which has recently taken place in the daily press in respect to Kapiti Island was considered at the last meeting of the New Zealand Forestry League, and on the motion of Mr A. Leigh Hunt, it wag resolved: — "That the committee in control of Kapiti island should be urged to erect a dividing fence between the grazing area and the forest land; and, also, to arrange a party of sportsmen during the Easter holidays to eradicate the goats from the island, which were doing so much damage to the forists.” Tire questions of an area of forest at Waikanae and Mason's Gardens at the Hutt were also considered, with a view to having these reserved for the public benefit.
