RURAL PARISHES.
To the Editor. Sir, —As your paper circulates in a rural district, and we hear of proposed changes in the N.Z. education and Mr jParr and his “Experts” quote what is being done in Britain, the following extract” from an editorial in “The Farming News” (Scottish) of 23rd November last may prove a warning to country residents' in New Zealand to see that their interests arc not overlooked:—“So far as rural parishes “are concerned the recent Education “Act is turning out, as every one with “a knowledge of country conditions “knew it would, the most muddle“headed attempt to improve the “child’s intellect and turn him into a “useful citizen, ever fixing out with “the Parliamentary graip into the “Westminster Midden. It possesses “a good hit of the character of town’s “dimg—a lot of waste paper mixed “ with old tins, and other rubbish, just “ rhe expect a 1^“ collection less town-mind- *‘ ed people AvShP expect to act as a '‘fertiliser.”—l am, etc., v - SCOT.
