PAEKAKARIKI.

There is money in wool, at least sufficient at the present time to induce some persons to go to the extent of paying a visit to a woolshed near Packakariki and removing therefrom, without the knowledge of the owner, six bales and over fifty fleeces. The method of the thieves was well planned, a motor-lorry being taken to the shed when those connected with the place were absent, and the haul gathered in. The theft took place at Mr NicolPs farm recently, and so far no trace of the wcol or thieves has been found. The death occurred on Saturday at Paekakariki of Mrs Larchin. wife of Mr Thomas Larchin. aged 84 years. The funeral took place yesterday at Paraparaumu.
