PERSONAL.
♦- '- Mrs Harold Cockrell is at present on holiday at Pukekohe. Mr Harkness, sen., is at present at Te Horo, being indisposed. It is probable that Mr Byron Brown will be a candidate for the Otaki seat at the next general election. Mr J. Robertson, ex-M.P. for Otaki, is at present in the South Sea Islands where he is giving picture entertainments. Mr J. McKenzie, who stood for the Otaki seat at tho last general election, is in the ballot for the Wellington South seat. Mr Bishop Harvey, of Katihiku, had I the misfortune a few days ago to fall. I from a load of hay while working for Mr Dixon at Rangiuru, and break his arm. The death took place at Wellington on Saturday of Mr A. T. Bate, a resident of Wellington. Deceased was well-known in this district, and his friends will regret to hear of his death. Dr. and Mrs Jones, Miss Williams, Lieutenant Commander Tonge, Miss Corrigan, all of Wellington, and Miss Bennett and Mr Dan Corrigan, of Otaki, made a. trip to Table Top one day last week. They enjoyed lovely weather, and the trip proved a pleasant one, the mountaiu scenery, etc., being greatly appreciated. Dr. and Mrs Jones and other members of tho party hope to cross the ranges at Easter. =====
