SPORTS' GATHERINGS.

To the Editor. Sir, —In your issue of 6th inst. "01< Sport" complains of the excessive pric< charged for refreshments especially fruit at sports. As I presume he is re fcrring to sports held at Paraparaumi on New Year's Day I would like to re ply on behalf of my Club. Our price were: Tea and cakes ftd, soft drink 4d and fid; fruit: plums 6d, apricot and peaches Is per lb. We procure; our apricots and peaches from Napie at a cost of 12s 6d per case of lSlbs If "Old Sport" still thinks these pri eea exorbitant I would ask him to leavl his nom-de-plume at home and maki himself a new sport by coming aloof and showing us how we could lowei oar prices and still make things pay.— I am. etc., ;'/"* D. F. HOWELL, Hon. Sec. Paraparaumu Amateur Sports Club.
