MANAKAU MEMORIAL.

To the Editor. Sir, —"A Digger" writes indignantly over sports for patriotic purposes. How is the money to be raised unless some function is held, and what harm can a sports' gathering doV Wo have e\;ery reßpect for our soldiers and I feel sure they would only be too pleased to help raise money for a memorial. Perhaps "A Digger" will help by a donatio:!. If so it will be gratefully acknowledged. The only fault to be found with.the object suggested is that very few .know of the sports. Why not boom the gathering? Why be so parochial?—l am, etc.. MONUMENT.
