[ PRIZE-GIVING CEREMONY. ! The annual prize-giving ceremony I n connection with the' above Sunday - | ichool was held in the Druids' Hall I last night, when there was a large attendance of children, parents and i friends. The first portion of the proi gramme consisted of musical items, I ecitations, etc., all of which were well 8 i'iven. Items rendered wore as folI lows: Chorns, "Christmas is the S rime for Fun," children; recitation, * 'The Magpie," Fred Davis; song, I 'Mickey," boys and girls; song, | 'Some Folks," infants; recitation, | 'Aunt Tabitha," Alice Noble; song, I 'Nancy Lee," boys; recitation, "My I .loney Bees," Madeline Bills; song, I 'Bed in Summer," small girls; carol, I 'Good King Wenceslas," children; in- [ -erludo; musical items by Rev. G. F. ; Metric; song, "Ten Little Nigger j 3oys," infants; song, "Abie," chilIren; recitation, Fred Davies; sonj, Mrs Bills. Prior to distributing the prizes the i dear (Rev. G. F. Petrie, M.A.) stated i low the'attendance at the Sundnychool had been affected by sickness, nd in consequence it was difficult to ;now how to award prizes. He was j oi ry for many who had thus been de- | marred from, winning prizes. The Rev. | Petrie spoke highly of the services of I \tr W. P. A. Kershaw, who had acted 1 is sole teacher at the Railway school, tnd expressed a hope that some one' would come forward and assist ! him in the splendid work he was loing. Thanks were also extended to Mrs Swabey, Miss Adsett and Miss j Xoble, who had officiated as teachers I it the town school, and where the Conner had acted, in the vicar's absence, as superintendent. The teachers wero given hearty ipplause,' after which reference was made to Mrs 3. R. Bills, who had not •>nly supervised the supper arrangements but had given liberally.
