OTAKI’S EFFORT. ' A meeting of the combined commit-' tees elected for the purpose of promoting funds for the above object was j held at the Otaki Town Board offices last night. Present: Messrs -X. P. He added that had the, time been extended there would have been a sum of £doo to £3OO to hand over. It was impo-sible, in his opinion,j to .-ingle out any individual for work.' done—all had worked well. He thought; however, a letter of thank- should bo -cat to Mr McMillau for providing the picture entertainment. and mentioned that this gentleman was always ready to assist any worthy object, not only in Otaki, but any part of the district. The ladies 1 committee had worked very energetically a? well as most har-> uioniouslv, and he was assured by the secretary that there had never been a better committee. The meeting bad! now to decide what channel the money would be forwarded through. j After discussion it was decided io. forward the money through the Bed Cross. Association, and to recommend that it be cabled away. FURTHER DONATIONS.
