$ FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the above Board was held Inst night. Fro sent: Commissioners J. P. Brandon (chairman), T. B. Ba'x, H. Cockrell, A \ W. Broadway, J. E. Bills, and H. Nicolson. \ Correspondence. Correspondence was read and deal: with as follows: — From Valuation Department, offer ing a plan of the Town Board area foi( £lO, provided it was used exclusively for Board purposes. Lor private indi- i viduals the cost would be £-'0. —Be t cided to secure a copy. From Upper Hutt Town Board, stat- j ing licenses for motor ears were issued, i at £1 per annual, for motor wagons up' to five tons £l, exceeding live lons £s,j additional for each ton 30s, maximum,; fee £lO, motor buses having a seating- '. .capacity of 20 persons £5, over £7 10s. —Received. From G. F. Nicholson, applying for a culvert opposite his shop in Mill, Boad.—Referred to the engineer. j From Tereturu Hamihoua, on behalf of several Natives, asking for cxten-j sion of grazing rights, eiz., from ti a.m.; to 6 p.m., stating at present labourers ■working away from home were unable, under present conditions, to avail themselves of the present arranger m ent. —Application not entertained, From Horowhcnua County Council, Stating thai a meeting of local body) representatives would be held at Levin on the 21st (Tuesday) to consider; .various matters in connection with the hydro-electric scheme, and asking the Board to appoint a representative— \ Corn. Kilsby and the Engineer to bo, ;the Board's representatives. [ From Department of Labour, acknowledging the Board's letter applying for a refund of expenses incurred in preparing for the intended visit of the Prince of Wales, and stating that if full details were submitted the matter would, be considered.—Par-j tieulars to be supplied. | . Headman's Wage?. E. Webby wrote applying for an infcrease of wages, and stating that, ' during the war period he had not, | sought an increase. Commissioners generally agreed, it being pointed out that ( Otaki paid the lowed wage of any local body from the ftiitr County to'. Palmerston North.
