JOURNALISE.

» CHANGE next, Messrs Sfe<ird?!ff\e and Billons, proprietors of the Levin “Chronicle,” having arranged to purchase the “Mail” from Mr Frank Penn, who has been owner, of the “Otuki Mail” for a great many years. The cost of newspaper production has increased enormously of late'years, and by means of amalgamating the two businesses Messrs

lverslake and Billeas will bo able to effect considerable savings, besides giving a better serviee to the people of the entire district between Paekakariki and Palmerston North. The “Otaki Mail” will be published as usual at Otuki, and the interests of Otaki and district will not. be allowed to suiter in the slightest by the change to be directed; indeed, tlie new management should be able to cater more couomieally and effectively for the interests of the district. M osi-rs . Kerslake and Billeus are enterprising. ! practical young men, who have made a great improvement in the Levin paper during their short time of ownership, and we are confident they will champion the Otaki district well. AVo trust the “Mail” under its new management will receive that liberal support that has been accorded tlie present proprietor. Mr Frank I’onn has purchased the “ Waikato Independent, ” a tri-weekly in the prosperous and growing town of Cambridge, and will move to that district immediately after the New Year.
