Mrs Fred. Souster and Miss Kathleen Carter, of Otahuhu, are on a brief visit to Otaki. Mr J. Cameron, who has been a resident of Mahakau for the past two years, leaves shortly to take tip residence with his son at Wanganui. (Mi John Wylie, of Foxlou, for some years telegraph linesman at Otaki, has received notice of transfer to Auckland. The engagement is announced of Miss Marjorie Malcolm, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs E. Malcolm. Levin, to Mr L. 11. Robinson. eldest son of Mr and Mrs W. C. Robinson, of Wellington. The engagement is announced of Miss Grace Olivine Hobraan, eldest daughter of M r and Mrs W. Hobman. of Marlborough, to Mr Walter M Southee, of the Post and Telegraph office. Feilding. eldest son of Mrs ami the late Mr Southee, of Manakau. Mr W. Row has resigned from the position of letter-carrier at Otaki, and his place will be filled by Master F. J. Edwards. Master Harold Edward Baker has been appointed telegraph rne-ssc-nger boy. Thus the “Alexandra Herald” /Otago): Miss Louise Mack, novelist. poet and war correspondent, for ■three years lady editor of the Sydney “Bulletin,” will give one of her famous recitals in Alexandra next Monday night. This recital is attracting enormous audiences all over New Zealand and Australia. Mr J. Kirk, who has disposed of his business at Otaki Railway, leaves the * district in a few days, after some nine ;or ten years’ residence here. His ■ future movements are at present uncertain. Mr and Mjrs Kirk and family have been much-esteemed residents . here, and will carry away with them the best wishes of a wide circle of i friends. . „
