OTAKI FLOWER SHOW.

A FINANCIAL SUCCESS. A meeting of the committee of the 11,11. and I. Society was held at the Kcadingroom on Monday night, presided over by the president (Hr WitclielJ), there being also present: Mrs Fox. Me,-■ r,- P. Xorgruve, A. Wilson, A. W. Broadway, 11. Cockrell and Frank Penn. The secretary presented a statement in connect,ion with the recent show. ' jr showed the income to be: Cr. balance brought, forward, £5 ils lid; special prizes collected, £l7; door takings, £22 S» lei; tea-rooms, £ll ss; sweets stall, £3O 10*; competitions, fid Ids; *ale of flower*, fii 10* fid; entry fees. £ls Os fid; members' tickets, £3 7a fid; hire crockery, etc* £1 10*; prize,* donated £1 It-. The expenditure included the following items: Purchase crockery, £5; prize money, E2fi; judge.*.’ expenses, £1 15.*; labour at show.*, 23 11*; trestle* for tables, £-5 30s; advertising and printing. £lO 7s fid; telephone, £5; half-year. salary secretary. £5. The statement showed a credit balance in hand of £2O lbs led. Members thought the financial state of affairs most satisfactory. A number of accounts presented were, passed for payment. The secretary wee requested to write and specially thank Mr-. L. Kilm.sxtvi for her effort:* in connection with the sweets stall; Mr,*. Hodgson and Mrs Synnott, refreshment room*; Mias Norgrove for valuable assistance in various ways; Mr A- F. Minton, for helping in the refreshment room*. Complimentary remark* -were made re the splendid assistance given by the per*<m* mentioned above, wipswte effort* contribute-] largely to the success .of the show, financially and otherwise.
