Foxton trainers "were well represented at the Horowhenua meeting. D. McCauley having three horses, F. T. Watson two, A. -M. Wright two, and F. J. Carmont five, but they were only successful in securing £l2O of prizemoney. Small dividends were the order of the day, there being only one uoubiefigure dividend, that paid by Esperance in the Cup. Four of the winning horses returned less than even money. and in two of the other races the first horses paid just over even money. • One Foxton sport was among the victims by pickpockets, being relieved pf two one pound notes and a cheque .for £ll, but fortunately for him the cheque ,w:as &. *?ale one. and could not i>e re»4ised on.
