TO-DAY’S SHOW.
A VERY FINE EXHIBITION. . The weather during the past few I weeks has been sufficient to discourage j the most enthusiastic gardener, but, ! despite this, there is a wonderfully j fine display at the spring show being j held to-day at the Otaki Theatre. I Cut flowers are naturally rather { scarce, but roses are fairly numerous and very beautiful, and miscellaneous j blooms make a brilliant show. Vegetables are, of course, a scarce ! commodity, but the domestic section is very freely patronised, and includes , a very large entry in nearly all classes —a tip-top show of dainty things. It is pleasing to. know that, the schoolwork entries comprise a record for the society. In many sections there is very been competition, and the work is of a high order. , Altogether it is a very creditable display, and wo can confidently recommend all lovers of the beautiful to call and inspect the local exhibits. The show deserves every encouragement. The show will be open from 7 till 10 to-night. The Otaki Band will play selections, ami supper will be served in the refreshment rooms. Mrs Kilmistcr is in charge of the sweets stall, and has a good array of nice things for stile. Mr Shuiler has staged a line variety of roses, including many of the newer varieties.
