FIRE AT LEVIN.

SLIGHT DAMAGE DONE, A fire occurred at Levin just after mid-day to-day, in a dwelling-house in Weraroa road, occupied by Mrs Hannah. The lire originated in the wash-house, attached to the dwelling, and fanned by a strong wind, the blaze was soon a big one. Fortunately by the aid of willing workers, and a plentiful water supply and a good hose being available, the flumes were subdued by the time that the Fire Brigade arrived on the scene. Fortunately comparatively little damage was done.
