NON-SHAREHOLDERS SUPPLYING EAHTJI FACTORY. lor so me time past the non-share-holder suppliers to tho Ji.ahui Dairy factory, Otaki. have had a grievance regarding the payment they received tor their supply, at Id per pound less than shareholders received. They were also getting nothing for their byproducts, Meetings were held ; ,t Otaki some time- ago, a visit was made to Otaki by members, of the Municipal Milk Committee, and as a result of representations made to the Municipal Milk Department the farmers’ requests have been favourably received. Mr H. I- Beauchamp. Haute re Cros . has just received the following letter from the Wellington City Council's Milk Department:— “Sir, —1 have to inform you that ’he Milk Committee of the Wellington City Council have decided that nonshareholder* supplying the Eahui Factory will receive payment for butterfat and by products for the past aea son. and also for the period during during which the agreement with the Rahui shareholder* remain* in force, 's! under:— ’' lor all milk supplied during the month* of September to April fbot*. inclusive) at the rate of id per pound batter-fat contained therein, over and above the average price per potted of butter-fat paid for the corresponding dairy season by any two faetorie?; .'to be selected) engaged in the manu/acmre of cheese or butter and situated within the provincial district of Wellington; also a payment durisg the months of September to April fboth inclusive) of a sum of jd per gallon for the whey which would remit from such milk if used for the manufacture of butter or cheese, the whey to be deemed to be 7-3 per cent of the milk received, ~ *-> - -rr “The awtiatast general manager ha*' h 2*S iiiizu*** accordingly.”
