BOWLING.
Otaki, in common with other parts of the island, has now entered upon its .1920-21 bowling season. Its beautiful green is a distinct asset to the town and district, attracting visitors throughout each season from all parts of the Dominion because of the reputation it. has for the high quality of its play and players. A just tribute to the ancient game was paid by Chief Justice Sir Robert Stout in Wellington last week, when he said that bowling was one of the most sociable games that was played. Ho believed the fellowship found on the bowling green was a great asset to social life, and on the greens all the past and present, differences between men vanished. This was sufficient justification for the preservation of the game.
