CLAIM FOR WAGES.
- ♦ TROUBLE OVER A BILLIARD TABLE. At the S.M. Court, Otaki, on Thurs day, Tereturu Hamah op a (Mr Atmore! sued Matin to Hcrnaru (Mr Stavclev: for £7-1 Its tkl. for wages alleged lo Indue. Plaintiff stated that defendan' asked him to go to Levin to sec :• billiard tabic. He did so, and reported as to its condition, and Matin said lie would pay £OO for it. AVilness went and got the table, and set it lip tit Otaki. Witness agreed to accept £'- per week from Altitiu as wages fo' looking after the table. Lie had only , received small sums, aud Altitiu non refused to pay any more. The defence was that Altitiu bought the table, as Tereturu had no money, and they were to go half shares with the takings, plaintiff to look after the table. Tutu had had half the takingfor the table. Judgment was given for defendant with costs £3 t-ls.
