AMONG THE DAFFODILS.

lIUTT SHOW. The liutt Bulb Show, hold ou Wednesday and Thursday of last week, was a great success in every wav, and the returns should asisst very largely in re-establishing the society in a good financial position. The exhibits as a whole were a very good lot, but there was little of an outstanding nature. The show was held at the Town Hall, and though affording ample space for staging, the show was spoilt by the bad light. In the open class Messrs 11. l’oole, T. Waugh, A. J. Hobbs and F. AVestbury were the principal exhibitors. AJr U. Witcbell was the only exhibitor from Otaki, he securing two firsts and a h.c. for some nice exhibits. As a matter of fact he. narrowly missed securing champion bloom in the amateur class with a very fine Flcctwing. The champion trumpet in the show was a Robert Sydenham of great size and good shape, shown by Air Waugh. First prize for the best seedling trumpet in the show was secured by Rev. 8. 11. D. Pcryman, of Carterton (well-known iti this district), with War Cloud, a seedling tricolour raised by Sir Heaton Rhodes. This is a fine trumpet, with splendid, broad, frilled r&p and good perianth. Air Peryraan mao scored first for seedling Barrii. .MR WEIGHTMAN'fj ITNE RECORD. ID:,ffoiTß'outhusiasts who admired Mr Weight man’s magnificent champion trumpet Renown at Otaki will be interested to know that the same bloom won similar honours at the Wanganui show on the Friday following. At this show Air Weightiest! won no less than 33 first prizes. At Rongotea show on Wednesday last Air Weight man won the twenty-five guinea silver rose bow! for best twelve blooms, and also the ten-guinea silver eup. Mr Weightloan’s record this season is one of which he may well tie proud, and Otaki glowers "ill heartily,,—congratulate
