MANAKAU TENNIS CLUB.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. The above was held in the school room ou Thursday evening last. Mr C. Cotter, president, occupied the chair, and there was a fair attendance. The minutes of the last annua! meeting were read and confirmed. The report and balance-sheet weie adopted. Some' discussion took place re tincourts, and eventually the contractor agreed to top-dress again to the satisfaction of the club. Mr Cotter generously offered to bring sand rqui red for same. Re matter of joining the N.Z. Tennis Association, it was agreed to leave over until further information "as obtained. Officers for the ensuing year weic elected a- follows: —Patron, Major Tatum (re-elected); president, Mr F. Burnell; vice-presidents, Messrs Jtige. Kofoed, R. Be van, C. C. Holmes, Aitken, .Stuckey, Cotter. Nees. R. Robin son. Dalzell, Clifford, H. G. Bryant. R. Kan.“field, Clarkson, T. Bevun, 11. Andrew, J. Nicholson, Swainson, \V. Bryant, Airs Drake; committee, Mrsdames Bryant. Burnell, Stewart. Mi - Houghton, Messrs W. Bevun, Duncum. Sirncox, George, C. Drake; secretary. Mr Trevethick; auditor, Mr C. Nce-s (re-elected). The matter of opening the season * reft over for the present. A dance committee was set up to meet later.

Mr Burnell returned thanks for his election as president,‘and thanks were accorded the retiring officers for theiT past services.
