HOROWHENUA AGAINST WELLINGTON.
The return match between the Horowhenua and Wellington junior repre .‘tentative teams xvas played at Wellington on Wednesday. In the first half Wellington played against the xvind and sun, and Held more than their own. The strong wind which was blowing militated against accurate passing, while a too hefty kick would send the ball hurling to tho south fence. When half-time was approaching the Horowhenua forwards startled a dribbling'rush which resulted in Porter being given an epportum ity to score. Taylor added the major points with the kick: Horowhenua I, Wellington 0.
•The second half of tho game was mainly in the local team’s favour. Shortly after the interval Hugh kicked a goal from a penalty, and followed this up a few minutes later with another. Before "no-sidc” was sounded Sullivan and Armstrong each obtained tries for Wellington. The kicks at goal were not successful and the game ended: Wellington 32, Horowhenua 5. Air E. Martin was the referee.
