MR FIELD'S CRITISISM. The administration of Kapiti Island was described as a “gross public scanday “ by Mr IV. 11. Yield (Otaki) ill the House of Representatives. iliat when a -proposal relating te Kapiti Island came before the Lunds Committee of the House it was thrown nut. He agreed that the remaining Native interests ought to be pur .-based. He had taken steps to form a' board, which would control the island, but the persons invited to sit on the board had not yet replied. He would proceed with this proposal.
